I have been so bad about writing lately. I just fell in to this funk the last week or so and haven't quite gotten out of it yet. The gallery opening was great, but I only had one friend show up. And so many of the other artists had lots of people there and I just felt very alone. And it hit me how many of my friends have moved away in the last couple years. That on top of extreme financial difficulties have just made things rough. Part of me wants to just sit and cry for awhile and the other part says "quit whining". We will see which side wins.

You have no idea how much I respect you, Kate.
You're doing what you love, and what you feel to be important. You're making things work out for yourself. I admire that incredibly.

I was kind of thinking the same thing as cutter. I am kind of jealous about your gallery thing because you are actually following a passion and I am all talk and no walk if you know what I mean.
Let's do something cheap soon!

I had a terrible time when I wanted to leave my profession; lots of hard work (always), cigarettes, untold hours, friends apart and in foreign countries and then.. I landed a huge contract. I actually tried very hard to run away from it as I was so disillusioned and I didn't want to anymore.. I ran and ran and I still got the contract. I am not pleased by the amount of work in my life right now.. but I still love my job. I almost gave up. Hope this helps somewhat and chin up!

Girl, did you buy a bag of pottin' soil and get your head stuck up in it? This is a new adventure and you are doing it on your own. Not having but one around you for the beginning is a good sign that you'll have a whole lot more than that around for the end. I know you, this is a good beginnin'. You know I woulda been there could I'd been but we'd'a just talked a bunch a trash 'bout some lady's dress.
